Our Story — How Umbria Stole Our Hearts Forever.

It all began fifteen years ago with a last-minute trip to Italy and one wonderfully romantic dinner at Locanda del Capitano in Montone. We were instantly, completely and irrevocably in love. Umbria was found — and we have never looked back.

To this day, we are still amazed by everything around us. The warmth of the people, the depth of the culture, the extraordinary food, the timeless historic towns. There is simply beauty in everything here, and we pinch ourselves every single day.

Casale San Cristoforo sits peacefully on the Coldipozzo hills, a hidden gem overlooking the medieval hilltop town of Montone. Named after San Cristoforo — the patron saint of travellers — it feels only fitting that this place has welcomed so many souls seeking something more.

It took us many cities and countries to finally arrive here. London, New York, and countless adventures in between. But when we found this corner of Umbria, we knew immediately — this was home. We wanted to raise our two daughters closer to nature, to slow down, and to live a more meaningful life. Today, our television has been replaced by the world outside our door, where every season, every creature and every sunset brings something new to discover.

We speak English, Hungarian, Italian and German, and we welcome guests from every corner of the world with open arms. During your stay, you are not just a guest — you are our neighbour.
